Duchy of Marlbrook
The Kingdom of Marlbrook was situated between the south side of the Kafrin River and the Cloud Spirit Mountains. It had an uneasy relationship with the Cranath Kingdom. Off and on, these kingdoms fought for supremacy of the lower reaches of the Kafrin River. This time of conflict and coexistence ended in 485 when Queen Feberga of Marlbrook agreed to entwine King Cranan of Cranath. This combined two largest kingdoms of the Land. They ruled with wisdom and strength, uniting the Land during their reign.
The Marlbrookians have many valuable silver mines deep in the valleys of the Cloud Spirit Mountains. Silver has always been an important source of their wealth. The discovery of flame-aura has been an economic boon in recent years as Marlbrook is a primary source of flame-aura stones.
The Duke, or Duchess, of Marlbrook is chosen by the nobles within the Duchy of Marlbrook. All nobles born in the duchy are eligible to be chosen. In the year 774, Duke Fornham is the twenty-first to rule the Duchy of Marlbrook.
