Realm of the Kroinik Peoples

North and east of the Drowin Mountains live the Kroinik peoples. They are a broad-shouldered and solidly built race. The Kroinik have round and rather flat faces with coarse gray hair. Not the gray humans get as we age, rather, their hair is a gray which ranges from tree-bark gray to mouse gray and remains the same color regardless of their age. Alluring pale purple eyes are the norm, often described as lavender or lilac in color.

They are a matrilineal society ruled by a hereditary queen. The eldest daughter of the queen, known as the queen-in-waiting, is destined to become the next queen. If there is no daughter, the next queen is always the closest woman relative to the current queen.

Kroinik peoples worship their ancestors.

Trade between the Cranath and Kroinik is limited. The journey from the main city of the Kroinik, O’Unta, to Baruth, in the Duchy of Pruth, is an arduous half-month trek through the Drowin Mountains during the summer and is too dangerous to undertake during the winter months. An alternate route between the O’Unta and the Cranath realm is by traveling from Lake Abolimo down the Kafrin River into the Cranath Kingdom. However, due to the change in elevation such a journey requires navigation of numerous rapids and four lengthy portages. Some trade does take this route, but not much and nothing bulky or heavy.

Relations between the the Kroinik Peoples and Cranath Kingdom are friendly. Yet the distance between these peoples results in relatively low contact and interaction.
